October was a wonderful month winding down the heat outside. We are finally getting some cooler nights and the fall colors are painting the skies. We had great Halloween visitors.
This time of year always brings out the baker in me. This year, the blackberries were wonderful and made their way into a wonderful cobbler.
I am planning some special dishes for Thanksgiving and I will be posting the recipes this week. I will be making a brine with my infused salts and herbs from my garden. I will make my mother’s stuffing recipe which is amazing. The whole cranberry relish is from a recipe created in the late 1800s. It is zesty and a great accompaniment to turkey.
For the holiday baking, of course Pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving and most likely an apple pie made with tart apples.
