Fall 2018

I am dedicating this post in my diary to the victims of Florence.  Bless all of those whose homes and lives have been upturned and displaced or lost.

I apologize for the delay in posting this month. I was reminded of my slow down in posts this morning, when asked if I had stopped the post.

I have posted a picture of the beautiful roses my wonderful husband, Don, gave me for my birthday today.  This month and next month there are a large number of family and friends who have birthdays.  Because of that and the holidays that follow, the rest of the year is truly a four month celebration for us!

Our pepper crop is huge this year and we have both fresh and dried available.  The heat has driven the crop.  I promised the pepper jam recipe last post and I have just posted the Jalapeño Bell Pepper Jam recipe for all of you.  Your must try it – it is absolutely delicious – but not for the faint of heart!

We are still awaiting for the ripening of our citrus fruit.  The Meyers lemons, Satsumas and Ruby grapefruit colors are still turning.

I have new Chicken recipe that Don’s Aunt passed on and I am anxious to try it.  I will post it once I have successfully made and tested it on Don and Bandit.

Until next time, we are looking forward to the fall cool down and sharing the harvest!
