This is an excellent dish for holiday breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients
  • 4 Large/Jumbo eggs
  • 1 Lb Shellfish (not Scallops they have too much liquid)
  • 3/4 Cup of shredded Gruyere or Aged Swiss Cheese
  • 1 Cup Heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 Cup diced shallots
  • 2 Tsp. Dijon Mustard
  • 1/2 Tsp. Mace or ground Nutmeg
  • 1/2 Tsp. of Sea Salt
  • Pinch of ground pepper
  • 1/4 Tsp. paprika
  • 1 9
Directions
  • Step 1 Preheat Oven to 350F
  • Step 2 Beat eggs, cream, paprika, mace, salt and pepper in a large bowl and set asside
  • Step 3 Spread Dijon mustard evenly around bottom of pie crust
  • Step 4 Sprinkle shallots evenly on pie crust atop Mustard
  • Step 5 Spread cheese evenly on top of shallots
  • Step 6 Spread the shellfish of your choice evenly in the pie dish
  • Step 7 Pour the Egg mixture evenly on top of the crab to fill the dish.
  • Step 8 Bake for 50 minutes, watch crust, if necessary, cover with aluminum foil to prevent burning.
  • Step 9 Cool and serve
