The Georgia Low Country weather has been cooler this week. So, our Jalapeño, Habanero and Carolina Reaper peppers have been popping! Also, my Basil, Sage, Tarragon, Oregano and Thyme is looking very good and wonderfully fragrant.
We put out a new bird bath under the trees in our backyard by the hummingbird feeders. I enjoy watching them from my kitchen as I develop new recipes and make my salts.
This week I made some wonderful dishes with my salts. Tuesday I made salmon and tortellini with truffle oil and truffle salt finish. Wednesday the turkey sausage and chicken pizza with artichoke hearts and black olives was a good “kickback and watch a movie” dinner on which I used jalapeño powder and finished with habanero salt sprinkle. Thursday was a jumbo shrimp and bowtie pasta dish with capers, lemon zest and lemon thyme salt. I finished the avocado with my citrus salt on the side.
I look forward to making more dishes this weekend inside as the rain is coming and the forecast is for several days of thunderstorms. Hopefully, by next week, I will be back outside again.
